Impact Business Decisions in Your Nurse Leadership Role
At a time when health care systems are going through dramatic changes at nearly every level, the role of the nurse leader is more important than ever. As a nurse and a business person, the nurse leader is uniquely qualified to assess the impact of business decisions on the overall quality of the patient’s care.
To be a valuable asset on the executive team and to the board of directors in an ever-changing environment nurse leaders must continue to hone their executive mindset.
UST Executive Education in Nurse Leadership is a program specifically designed to develop the knowledge, behaviors, and critical thinking required by nurse leaders at the highest levels of their organizations. Through lecture, simulations, and group work centered on real scenarios from the health care industry, participants will improve their:
- Personal leadership capacity
- Business and financial acumen
- Ability to develop talent and maximize resources
- Influence on stakeholder satisfaction and loyalty
To give focused attention to critical organizational challenges, the UST Executive Education in Nurse Leadership program takes place in an urban retreat-style setting. The program will be held on the University of St. Thomas campus in downtown Minneapolis, while lodging will be directly across the street at the Double Tree Hotel. The retreat-style setting of this executive-level program offers a safe environment in which to learn, exchange ideas, practice new skills and behaviors, and network with peers.
Participants return to their organizations feeling energized, confident, and prepared to:
- Contribute to executive- and board-level strategy development
- Execute strategic objectives by applying systems thinking
- Make decisions considering financial, operational, ethical, and human resources perspectives
- Lead system-wide change initiatives that deliver on business goals and quality patient care
- Communicate at multiple levels to engage and inspire others
