Empowering Nurses to Effect Transformation in Health Care
More nursing executives are seeking to develop and refine their leadership role as it relates to their nursing peers, physician colleagues, administrators, organizations as well as health care’s current political and economic climate.
The Nurse Leadership Institute (NLI) provides a unique approach to the traditional format for nursing education. NLI’s focus is on executive leadership skills and learning takes place in a cohort-style environment. By providing the right mix of adult-learning principles, subject matter experts, active learning opportunities, and knowledge-based education, participants increase their capacity to lead teams, mobilize resources, produce results, and impact health care while managing work/life balance.
Nurse Leadership Institute is a program designed to develop the knowledge, behaviors, and critical thinking required by nurse leaders at the highest levels of their organizations. Through dialogue, lectures, simulations, group work centered on real-life health care scenarios, and a Significant Leadership Project participants improve their:
- Personal leadership capacity
- Business and financial acumen
- Ability to develop talent and maximize resources
- Effectiveness in leading system-wide change initiatives that deliver on business goals and quality patient care
- Influence on stakeholder satisfaction and loyalty
To give focused attention to critical organizational challenges, NLI takes place in an urban retreat-style setting. The format of this executive-level program offers a safe environment in which to learn, exchange ideas, practice new skills and behaviors, and network with peers.
