Physician Leadership Competencies

Part 1
On February 17th, more than 100 physicians and health care leaders gathered at the University of St. Thomas to spend an evening networking and gaining valuable takeaways on the hot topic of physician leadership competencies. James Stoller, M.D. from the Cleveland Clinic shared his expert opinion on effective physician leadership in health care organizations. Following his lecture, Dr. Stoller led a question and answer session with a Physician Leadership College alumni panel. Founded in 1885, the University of St. Thomas has established itself as one of the premier universities in Minnesota and the Midwest. The business-focused continuing education unit, which is now Executive Education and Professional Development, was created in 1957 by Bishop James Shannon and Peter F. Drucker. There are currently more than 7,000 students engaged in the Opus College of Business’s undergraduate, graduate, executive and professional education studies because they value the emphasis on career preparation and engaging in service to others.

Dr. James Stoller:
Dr. Stoller is the Chairman of the Education Institute and Executive Director of Leadership Development at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. His organizational development activities as Executive Director of Physician Leadership Development include co-directing the Leading in Health Care course for Cleveland Clinic faculty, directing the Cleveland Clinic Academy, and organizing the leadership rotation and on-boarding activities for Cleveland Clinic faculty leaders.
