Mini Master of Retailing Excellence

Overview

Some say that the severity of the recent recession may affect consumer behavior for an entire generation just as the Great Depression did. If that happens, the retail industry will be faced with decades of selling to consumers who would rather save than spend their hard-earned cash.

Retailers have already made great strides in flexing their business and marketing strategies to accommodate belt-tightening. However, it may be necessary to become more creative — and make more dramatic changes — to keep retail companies healthy in an extended “new normal” environment.

The Mini Master in Retailing Excellence is a timely, practical, comprehensive and challenging program that will help you better understand the retailing industry — and your company’s approach — so you are better able to influence your strategy for long-term success. Through 14 sessions of lecture, discussion, group work and cases, you’ll learn how to:

  • Analyze and anticipate consumer behavior
  • Assess threats and opportunities to your organization
  • Assemble cross-functional teams for problem-solving and strategy development
  • Discover and apply new best practices
  • Lead initiatives that improve effectiveness, efficiency, service, sales, and profits
  • Measure progress and success
  • Model open-mindedness and flexibility during turbulent times
  • Create a more sustainable organization
